1.309 FAQ-1225 Why my project with contour graphs makes Origin freeze?

If you find that the contour graph is very slowly, or even causes Origin to freeze, this may be due to an excessive number of data points in the contour.

To fix the problem:

1. Change the system variable @TCS to 4000. Refer to this FAQ for how to change the value.
   @TCS controls the threshold for the number of data points that triggers Speed Mode and it has been set to 10,000 by default since Origin 2022. Reducing its value, for example to 4000, can speed up Origin.
2. Turn off smoothing for contour. That is,
   1. Double click on the contour to open the Plot Details dialog.
   2. Go to Contouring Info tab and uncheck Smoothing option.
