2.115 FAQ-1050 Does Origin have a tool like MS Excel's Text to Columns Wizard?

Like MS Excel, Origin has a tool for splitting cell text into multiple cells (columns). The text should be Comma, Semicolon, Pipe or White Space delimited.

  1. Open the Script Window (Window: Script Window), type the following and press ENTER.
    2. text2cols -d
  2. In the Text to Columns dialog box, select the Text Column and Delimiter. If you would like to copy additional columns over to your output, check the Include Other Column(s) box and specify Other Column(s).
  3. Specify location for Output and click OK.
