how-to-lock-data-filter
Last Update: 11/18/2024
Graphs and analytical results generated from filtered worksheet data will update if data or filter conditions change. Therefore, if you want to do side-by-side comparisons of graphs or analysis results created with different filter conditions of the same worksheet data, you need to use the Worksheet: Copy Columns To menu command (the colcopy X-Function) and copy the relevant columns that are needed in analysis and graphing from the source worksheet to a new worksheet, then "lock" the filter in the new worksheet. This freezes a particular result so that you can make changes to the original worksheet data or filter condition and generate a new result.
