6.102 FAQ-1151 Why I see a product key expired error even though I have a permanent license?

If your permanent license package includes a Maintenance plan, you will be given an additional "home" license as one of the benefits of the Maintenance. This license will expire along with your Maintenance plan.

You can always check the home product key by the following:

  1. Log in [www.originlab.com OriginLab website].
  2. On the Welcome page, click Manage My License(s) link.
  3. Click on the serial number link in the table to go to the Origin Product Registration|License request history webpage.
  4. Check License type column to determine if it is a primary key or a home key, and Status column to see if it is expired.

Please keep in mind that if your Maintenance expired, you cannot use the home product key to activate Origin any more. And there is no need to transfer an expired home key.
