6.1 FAQ-2 My trial time ran out but I didn't finish evaluating

  • If you were running your trial version in the three-day unlicensed mode, you can use the trial license dialog to obtain a license for an extended trial period. Please follow steps below.
  • If you have already obtained a trial license and have reached the end of your trial period, please contact the OriginLab sales department or your Origin distributor to discuss extending your trial period.

Licensing Your Trial

When installing Origin as a Trial you can select either' Install Origin Trial to install the standard version or Install OriginPro Trial to install the Pro version.

  • Licensing the Trial Offline (without Internet Access)
  1. Start Origin.
  2. Select My computer does not have internet access. How do I obtain a trial license? .
  3. Click OK. You will see the following message.

  4. Open a web browser to the OriginLab website www.originlab.com
  5. Click on the "Try" button on the upper right of the Home page.
  6. Click on either the "Origin Trial License" link for a standard version license or on the "OriginPro Trial License" link for a Pro version license located in Note 2.
  7. On the Request for 21-day Trial License page, click Continue.
  8. Log in to the OriginLab website.
  9. Verify your email address is correct in your User Profile (the license will be sent to that email address).
  10. Click Obtain Trial License.
  11. Copy the license from the email you receive.
  12. Save it in Notepad on a disk or flash drive.
  13. Open it on the computer you are trying to evaluate Origin on.
  14. Click the OK button on the instructional message
  15. Select I already have a trial license - how do I enter it?
  16. Click OK
  17. Paste it into Origin in the first box
  18. Enter the email address the license was sent to in the second box
  19. Click OK.

You should see a message stating that your license has been successfully updated. Origin will run the Trial for 21 days from the time you received your license.
