3.120 FAQ-694 How can I calculate the parameter value in a complex equation?

Last Update: 7/28/2018

To calculate the parameter q in a complex equation K=f(q), you can first translate the equation into this form

Y=f(q)-K,

and then calculate the q value when Y=0. You must have some thoughts of the area in which q locates, from a to b for example. Use the Set Values tool to calculate Y values when a\leq q \leq b. Then use levelcrossing or Intersect gadget to find the the exact q value that makes Y=0.
