The following table illustrates several reasons why the function you are using is not producing a good fit or the fit fails to converge.

Initial Values Incorrect

Refine initial values to better follow your data

Model (Function) is not correct

Review the theory of your experiment

Fitting Stops too soon

Lower the tolerance or increase the number of iterations

Not enough data points

Add more data points

Data too noisy

Apply a filter to your data
