These settings control how Origin displays and interprets numeric data.
Type or select the upper threshold for conversion from decimal to scientific notation from the Upper Threshold Power combination box. When a numeric value is greater than this value it will display in Scientific Notation (e.g. when the Upper Threshold Power is set to 6, 9999999 displays as "9999999" but 10000000 displays as "1E7").
Type or select the lower threshold for conversion from decimal to scientific notation from the Lower Threshold Power combination box. When a numeric value is less than or equal to this value it will display in Scientific Notation (e.g. when the Lower Threshold Power is set to -3, 0.001 displays as "0.001" but 0.0009 displays as "9E-4").
The angular unit setting affects all trigonometric functions computed using LabTalk. Function that take angle values as arguments treat those values as if they are in the selected unit. This affects calculations performed in OGS files, the Script Window, Set Column Values and the Label Control dialog boxes.
Available options include Radian (default), Degree, and Gradian.
Note: This setting does not affect computations in Origin C; Origin C always uses radians.
This group controls the default digits of numeric data (the digits of worksheet numeric data when Default Decimal Digits is selected from the Digits drop-down list in the the Column Properties dialog box and the digits of matrix data when Default Decimal Digits is selected from the Digits drop-down list in the the Matrix Properties dialog box).
Select this radio button, if you want to specify the default digits by specifying the number of decimal digits.
Select this radio button, if you want to specify the default digits by specifying the number of significant digits.
This combination box value controls the number of decimal digits (if the Decimal Digits radio button is selected) or the number of significant digits (if the Significant Digits radio button is selected) for Origin's default numeric display. If Significant Digits is selected and this value is greater than the Upper Threshold Power then this number determines Upper Threshold Power.
This group controls the default digits of numeric data in the analysis report sheets.
Select this radio button, if you want to specify the default digits for the analysis report sheets by specifying the number of decimal digits.
Select this radio button, if you want to specify the default digits for the analysis report sheets by specifying the number of significant digits.
This combination box value controls the number of decimal digits (if the Decimal Digits radio button is selected) or the number of significant digits (if the Significant Digits radio button is selected) for the default numeric display in analysis report sheets.
Sets up use of alternate digit grouping symbols and decimal symbols for numeric values in worksheets and graphs. The default, Windows Settings, uses Windows Region settings.
Notes:
Select the default separator for ASCII import. This affects the selection in the Numeric Separator drop-down list in the Data Columns page of Import Wizards and the Numeric Separator drop-down list in the ImpASC dialog.
If Windows Settings is selected here, separator specified in Window's Regional Settings will be used.
