17.4.1.1 The One-Way ANOVA Dialog Box


This dialog can be used to carry out one-way repeated measures ANOVA analysis. To open this dialog, select Statistics:ANOVA:One-Way ANOVA from Origin menu.

Input

Set the drop-down list to Raw or Indexed.

Indexed In this mode, one column contains levels of the factor variable and the corresponding response data are in another column.

Factor

Specify the factor column. Note that the fact column will be set as categorical if Text column.

Data

Specify the response data column.

Mini bulb.png: If you want to display numeric instead of text values for factor in result plot, please set the column designation of factor column to be Group

Raw In this mode, response data from each level of the factor variable are stored in a separate column

Factor

Name
Enter the factor name.
Number of Levels
Default = 2
Specify number of levels. And each level will have its own Leveli controls. Note that the system variable @AML can be used to control the max number of supported levels for ANOVA, which is 25 by default. You can change the maximum number of levels by assigning new values to the @AML variable.
Leveli name
Default = Factori Leveli
Specify the level name. Auto uses the sheet Long Name.

Data

Leveli
Specify the data column for each level. Use the data selection controls beside each level Analysis dialog data selection controls.png or click the browse button to the right of Data and ANOVA inpurt data browse.png and choose Select from Worksheet to do point-and-click selection of worksheet columns or Select Columns to open the Column Browser.

Descriptive Statistics

Check to include descriptive statistics results in the output report.

Significance Level

Set the significance level for one-way ANOVA.

Means Comparison

Choose methods of post-hoc pairwise comparisons:

Significance Level Specify the significance level for pairwise means comparison.

Different methods for pairwise means comparison. (For more information see Algorithms).

Grouping Letters Table Showed difference of mean value with letters. Same letter means no significant difference, while different letter mean significant difference between two groups.

Choose test methods for homogeneity of variance.

Actual Power Specify whether to perform actual power test.

Graph Arrangement

Arrange Graphs into Columns

Specifies number of columns to arrange output graphs.

Arrange Plots of Same Type in One Graph

Enable adding all data plots of the same type in one graph window.
Report Tables Specifies the destination of report worksheet tables.

Book

Specifies the destination workbook. Accompanying BookName field registers output book name.
  • <none>: Do not output report worksheet tables (BookName box is blank and read-only).
  • <auto>: The location of the initial input data selection (Note that input data ranges can be from different workbooks). If input data is not in an Origin workbook, Origin will automatically pick an Origin workbook that fits (usually create a new workbook).
  • <source>: The source data workbook.
  • <new>: A new workbook.
  • <existing>: A specified existing workbook.

Sheet

The destination worksheet (always <new> and named as SheetName).

Result Log

Enable to output the report to Result Log.

Script Window

Enable to output the report to Script Window.

Notes Window

Use this drop-down list to specify the destination Notes Window:
  • <none>: Do not output to any Notes window.
  • <new>: Output to a new Notes window. You can enter the desired name of the Note window here.
Plot Data Specifies the destination to output the data for plots (you must select a Plots option, below).

Book

Specifies the workbook to output the plot data.
  • <auto>: Follows Report Tables book settings unless you've set Book = <none>.
  • <source>: The source data workbook.
  • <report>: The report workbook.
  • <new>: A new workbook.
  • <existing>: A specified existing workbook.

Sheet

The destination worksheet (always <new> and named as SheetName).
Optional Report Tables Specifies whether to include additional tables in report worksheet.

Notes table.

Table for input data.

Masked Data

Table for masked data.

Missing Data

Table for missing data.

Plots

Bar Chart

Specifies whether to generate the plot in the report sheet.

Note: If the Factor column is Set as Categorical, then the output graph will be plotted according to the categorical order customized through (Column Properties) Categories tab from Factor column.

Box Chart
Means Plot (SD as Error)
Means Plot (SE as Error)
Means Comparison Plot This is only available when post-hoc pairwise comparisons will be performed.(controlled in Means Comparison tree node).

Specifies whether to output means comparison plot(s) for all selected method(s).
