10.3 Graph with Data Slicer

If the source worksheet of a plot has one or more filters, no matter the filter condition is set or not, a Data Slicer can be turned on. The Data slicer is a panel docked at the left side of the graph window. It lists all existed filters, allowing you to view, set, or change the filter condition, disable or enable a filter. Graph will update accordingly.

To turn on the Data Slicer,

1. Move over the blank area at the corner of the graph page where the mouse changes to , one click, the page level mini-toolbar will appear.
2. Click ‘’’Data Slicer’’’ button to turn on Data Slicer panel.

Context menu

• Hide Filter: if you select this to hide a filter, you can right click on the blank area to ‘’’show All Filters’’’
• Disable/Enable Filter

Context menu provide different items for different data types.

Text & Categorical

• Selection types: 'Multiple Selection, Single Selection and Auto. Auto has Multiple Selection type by default, and it follows the last type you chose.

Numeric

Click on a filter will pop up a simple dialog to let you change the filter condition

Data & Time

Click on a filter will pop up a simple dialog to let you change the filter condition

If you have a Year column with Type set to Date > Year format, and you want to filter data plot per year, you can, Add a filter to this column. Click it and select ‘’’Custom Filter’’’. Set the formula similar as follow: Year(x) = 1992 A filter with a slider will be added to the Data Slicer panel.
