Description

This graph shows the first five P and R branch transition frequencies of four isotopologues in order to predict the effects of isotopic substitution on the rotational-vibrational spectroscopy of hydrogen chloride.

This is a four layers graph, each layer demonstrates the transition of one particular isotopologue. Dropline is used to turn scatter plot into spectrum. Corresponding layers are linked and moved close by Layer Management.

Data labels are turned on by an extra column in the worksheet for the two layers in the middle to show the branch information. Those labels are attached to specific X values without any offset settings.

The graph was originally created for a Physical Chemistry lab report by Chris Drozdowski, undergraduate chemistry major at Winston-Salem State-University.
