OriginLab® Releases Origin® 8.5
Origin 8.5 extends graphing and graph-based analysis
NORTHAMPTON, MA (September 15, 2010) – OriginLab Corporation today announced the release of Origin 8.5, a new version of its leading Windows-based analysis and graphing software. The release includes several new features that allow for more sophisticated representations of data, and also provides users with a greater ability to analyze their data directly in graphs.
The new features include transparency control to allow graph elements to overlap while maintaining clarity and gradient color fill to increase contrast and visual impact. Zooming and panning can now be done simultaneously on graphs and images, allowing more efficient inspection of data at multiple scales in both two and three dimensions.
For 19 years Origin has provided a comprehensive solution for scientists, engineers, analysts and researchers who need to graph, analyze and make professional presentations of their data. OriginLab’s software is used by leading researchers at corporations and universities worldwide.
“We have listened closely to the needs of our end-users and made Origin 8.5 a more powerful and intuitive tool for analyzing and presenting data,” says OriginLab’s founder and President, Dr. C. P. Yang. “Improvements in graphing, particularly transparency and intersecting three-dimensional surfaces, increase our users’ ability to customize the presentation of their data.”
Additional graphing improvements in Origin 8.5 include an enhanced waterfall plot, a new vector plot template, and the ability to add error bars to 3D plots. Moreover, the new virtual matrix feature enables surface and contour graphs to be created directly from worksheet data, including those with non-uniform axis scales.
Key analysis features have also been added, including a new Fitting Function Builder, a redesigned data information window, and three new Gadgets: region statistics, interpolation and differentiation.
