NORTHAMPTON, Massachusetts. November 21, 2025 – OriginLab,
a leading publisher of data analysis and graphing software, today announced the release of
Origin® and OriginPro® 2026.
This latest version of OriginLab’s award-winning software application adds many new features and improvements,
plus a suite of all-new Apps to extend Origin’s graphing and analysis capabilities.
Origin 2026 introduces Flash Fill and Smart Formula which allows you to quickly extract desired part of the string from a column containing text, such as extracting numbers from mixed text and numbers. It can also be used to combine contents from multiple columns into an output column.
A Find in Project Files dialog has been added to help user search for project file of interest in all recent projects or in specified folder location. Search with keywords including wildcard in project name and notes, child window name and labels, imported data file names in workbook storage, sheet and column metadata such as long name, short name, comments, cell notes in worksheet, annotation labels in graph, and contents of regular Notes window. The output list offers detailed view to list all matches found. Columns in the output are sortable to list all results by type such as matches in all sheet names. The modeless dialog allows you to continue the search in minimized mode, and then open the projects found in current or new sessions, or append it to current project.
Several significant improvements have been for cell formula in worksheets to make calculation more efficient: Bring in cell formula from Excel or Google Sheet to Origin to continue your calculation. Highlight bad/unaccepted formula with different color and # error text, Search and find text in formula cells for quick replacement, Clear data cells in worksheet with formula kept. Convert formula cells to static values before sharing project with others, Edit bad formula dialog. More Excel names such as TRUE/FALSE, and functions such as average, rand, stdev.s, stdev.p are now supported in Origin.
Turn on Auto Refresh of imported data with periodical refresh interval from as small as 5 seconds up to 3 days. This is useful in situations where the data changes or more data is added to the source and you want it periodically updated in Origin. This feature works for local files, network files, database, and web/cloud based data sources.
A new and improved Graph Maker has been added in this version, accessible from the Plot menu with more plot types supported, including Run and Pareto charts. Use text/categorical column(s) as grouping variable, and to split the graph to multi panels in a single page or multiple pages. This modified App now supports re-opening the dialog to make changes to update the graphs.
A new Graphical Summary tool is now available under descriptive statistics to View your data as clear, interactive charts to identify trends and outliers at a glance. Summary graphs can be arranged as separate graphs, or arranged side-by-side for comparison by variable, by group, or all in one. Summary statistics include Anderson-Darling test for normality.
A couple of hot keys have been added for improved work flow: Ctrl+Backspace to repeat the last action such as last graph, menu/toolbar entry or App. Ctrl+Shift+Backspace to reopen the last used analysis, statistics, data manipulation, App, or advanced graphs dialog.
Save and Load buttons are added in the Graph Options dialog so that user can save a set of preferred default settings to apply to graphs.
New Graph Types include Cause and Effect Diagram, Frequency Chart: Column, Bar, Pie, Doughnut, Double X, Decision Tree, Stem and Leaf Plot, Grouped Histogram, Grouped Pareto, Grouped Scatter Plot, Improved Grouped Column Chart, Conclusion Charts in t-Test Report Sheets.
New Apps available in 2026: Reliability and Survival Analysis, Stem and Leaf Plot, Convert Global to Local Coordinates, DMD Connector, RPC3 Connector, Ivium Connector. Improvement Apps: Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, Decision Tree Analysis, Logistic Regression, Graph Maker, Minitab Connector.
Several other General, graphing, and data handling features are included in 2026.
Origin offers an intuitive, point-and-click interface for new users, combined with a wide range of powerful functions for advanced purposes. OriginPro includes all the features of Origin plus extended analysis tools.
