OriginLab Releases New Data Analysis and Graphing Software, Origin 2024
Dark Mode Support, Drag and Change Axis Scale on Graphs, Sheet-based Browser Plot, Binary Column Type for Test and Measurement Data, Statistical Process Control, plus new Graphs and Apps
NORTHAMPTON, Massachusetts. November 21, 2023 – OriginLab, a leading publisher of data analysis and graphing software, today announced the release of Origin® and OriginPro® 2024. This latest version of OriginLab’s award-winning software application adds 100+ new features and improvements, plus a suite of all-new Apps to extend Origin’s graphing and analysis capabilities.
Origin 2024 introduces Dark Mode support. Set dark mode for the interface and various Windows types independent of each other. A new toolbar is available to easily toggle dark mode, choose from several built-in color themes, and other common tasks. In Graph pages, different color reversal levels are available and users can customize the graph background color for optimum viewing in dark mode. Copy/export graphs as images with or without dark mode applied.
Interactively adjust axis scales by click on axis and drag axis ends or press Z/ X key and drag layer boundaries. The axis value will snap to the nearest major tick for easy customization.
A new Sheet-based Browser Plot is available for easy visualization of data across multiple worksheets. Create a graph from a set of columns in one worksheet and turn on the Sheet-based Browser button to show, and select from, all other sheets in the project that have a matching data structure. Select from these sheets to instantly add data to the graph.
A new Binary column type has been introduced for status channels from test and measurement data. Convert a column with two discrete numeric or text values to a Binary column. The data gets converted to 0/1, and the binary column is plotted automatically with step line style in graphs.
Statistical Process Control (SPC) capability has been added as an App for OriginPro. The following features are included: Capability Analysis (Normal Variables, Non-normal Variables, and Attributes Variables), Process Overview (Normal Process, Between/Within Process, and Non-normal Process), and Control Charts (Variable Charts for Individual, Variable Charts for Subgroups, Attributes Charts, and Time-Weighted Charts).
Other new features and improvements include: Restructure menu for Workbook, Support mouse wheel horizontal scroll, Align single layer relative to page, Multiple ROI in graph to show enlarged areas, Join more than 2 worksheets by matching column and merging options, and Smart paste of Date & Time data from Excel.
New Graph Types include Tile Grid Map Plot and Split Heatmap Plot.
New Apps available for 2024 include Statistical Process Control, NIfTI Slicer, Design of Experiments (updated), Power Spectral Density, Youden Plot, Poisson Regression, Generalized Additive Model, and Asymmetric Correlation Matrix. All apps are available at no extra charge from Origin’s in-software App Center. Apps allow Origin users to customize their software, choosing only desired tools from an ever-expanding list of Apps.
