OriginLab Releases Origin 2015 Data Analysis and Graphing Software
Includes ease-of-use features such as collapsible menus; a redesigned axis dialog box;project-level search and preview of data, metadata and graphs; new graph types and Python script support
Northampton, Mass (October 28, 2014) OriginLab, a leading publisher of data analysis and graphing software, today announced the release of Origin® and OriginPro® 2015 at the Automotive Testing Expo 2014 in Novi, Mich. This latest version introduces many new features and improvements, including several ease-of-use enhancements requested by customers.
Origin 2015 adds more than 100 new features and improvements to version 9.1, which was released in October of 2013. Key enhancements include ease-of-use features such as collapsible menus, project file search for string, thumbnail previews of graphs and tooltips displaying folder or window comments in Project Explorer, choice of icon- or details-listing of project contents, a redesigned graph Axis Dialog, and an improved graph legend with support for bubble scales. Other features include new graphs such as heat map and 2D kernel density plots, 3D batch plotting, user-defined ordering of categorical data for graphing and analysis, a distribution fit tool, repeated measures ANOVA with unbalanced data, and integration with the Python scripting language.
Antoine Couturier, Ph.D., research engineer at the National Institute for Sports (INSEP) in Paris and a beta tester, remarked, “Besides new features such as Python scripting support which will satisfy many researchers and engineers, OriginLab has put special effort into improving usability in Origin 2015. An entirely redesigned axis dialog makes axis customization easy, while also providing extended functionality. Thumbnail previews of graphs in Project Explorer, and the ability to now search the project to find any metadata associated with various objects, simplifies working with large projects.”

"The addition of graph and metadata previews in Project Explorer has made managing large projects much easier. Searching for a particular graph used to involve opening numerous windows, but now it is as easy as running the mouse over the list of windows in Project Explorer.”
